Over the past 35 years, Phil has developed an international reputation for strategically positioning projects, ensuring efficient execution and delivering consistently strong financial returns in the shopping centre industry across the Middle East, North America, North Africa and Asia.

In the Middle East, Phil has held senior directorial and managerial roles on such prestigious projects as Dubai Festival City, Deira City Centre, Mall of the Emirates, Muscat City Centre and CityStars in Cairo.

Prior to founding McARTHUR + COMPANY, Phil held senior executive positions at renowned real estate companies such as Ivanhoe Cambridge, Al Futtaim Group, CityStars, MAF Shopping Centres and Brookfield Properties. He has a long association with the New York-based International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) as a past Trustee, as well as a faculty member of the ICSC’s John T Riordan School for Professional Development. Phil has served as President and Board Member of the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres, as well as Chairman of the ICSC Middle East & North Africa Design and Development Awards. He is currently a member of the ICSC Global VIVA Awards committee.

Sumitro Ghosh is the chief executive officer of Tata Starbucks Private Ltd, the 50/50 joint venture between Starbucks Coffee Company and Tata Global Beverages Limited. In this role, Ghosh provides overall strategic direction and leadership to the joint venture in India.

Sumitro was appointed as the ceo at Tata Starbucks in January, 2016. He worked for Starbucks for over 8 years, which helped him deliver the mission and values for the largest coffee chain in the world. In the course of his tenure, he primarily operated as a Regional Vice president where he was responsible for almost 600 stores and $800M in annual sales. In his current role as the ceo, he will be leading the brand and its vision for growth in India. He has also has held positions in general management, operations and real estate development with major companies like Yum Brands and ARAMARK.

Sumitro holds a credential in advertising from the Michigan State University and is currently based in Mumbai with his Mother, Wife, and Daughter, while his 2 sons are studying in USA currently. In his free time he enjoys sports, music and time with his family.

He was part of the team responsible for creating the Denim Revolution in India in the ‘90s. He was also a key member of the Arrow launch team. He is the recipient of Retail Professional of The Year award by CMAI in 2009.

Ramesh is the CEO & Country Head, responsible for the overall direction, strategy and growth of JLL India, the largest real estate services firm in India with more than 9,500 diverse professionals, with India business revenues nearing INR 3,000 crores in 2016-17. JLL is a Fortune 500 company, creating value for owners, investors and users of real estate. Globally, with annual revenues of $6 billion, JLL operates in 1,000 locations across 80 countries.

JLL is also the market leader in terms of market share, revenues, profitability and team size for all the business lines in India. Prior to taking over the role of CEO & Country Head, he has held positions such as COO – India, MD – West India, India Head of Land, South India Markets Head, MD – Chennai, MD – Hyderabad and MD – Industrial. Ramesh is also a non-Executive Director on the RICS Global Regulatory Board.

Experience

Ramesh has nearly 19 years of broad based, practical, hands-on, professional expertise in most facets of the real estate business and has worked across diverse asset classes such as office, retail, land, residential, warehousing and industrial advising many domestic and multinational owners, occupiers and investors in West and South India. Throughout his career, Ramesh has helped his clients define and deliver successful real estate projects of the highest quality.

Ramesh is a member of the Asia Pacific Leadership team, and leads the National Executive Committee and India Leadership Council of JLL India. He has been part of the core team which has been responsible for making JLL the largest real estate advisory firm in India. Amongst the pioneers of professional real estate consulting services in India, Ramesh has conceived, structured and negotiated virtually every form of deal and has also been instrumental in introducing many new concepts into the Indian real estate market.

Ramesh has been with JLL since 1999. He has also worked for Colliers International and CBRE, between 1996 till 1999. He has exposure to international markets through short stints in Singapore, New York and Washington D.C.

Ramesh became one of the youngest MD’s within JLL globally at 32. He is also one of the longest serving employees of JLL in India. He has written numerous articles in The Economic Times, The Times of India, The Hindu, The Indian Express and various other business publications. Ramesh is also a visiting faculty at Jamnalal Bajaj and LIBA, both top 10 Business Schools in India.

“Shishir has 37 years of experience across diverse industries that include real estate, hospitality, education and entertainment. Shishir is responsible for managing the Indian operations of Knight Frank, an international property consultant with $800 million turnover and headquartered in London.

Shishir began his career with ITC Hotels Division where he spent over 18 years in various roles from 1979-97. His last role there was that of Area Manager & General Manager – Windsor Manor Sheraton & Towers, Bangalore.

Prior to Knight Frank, Shishir was Managing Partner at Everstone Capital Advisors Pvt Ltd. (ECAP), where he advised the deployment of approx. US$ 690 mn across different real estate asset classes. Under his leadership, ECAP positioned itself as an investment advisor with end-to-end real estate development capabilities across the value chain – project evaluation, land acquisition, project conceptualization and design, leasing, property management and investment exits.

Before ECAP, Shishir was CEO of INOX Leisure Ltd, where he was instrumental in rolling out the INOX chain across India and also establishing INOX as a multiplex brand at a national scale. Under his leadership, INOX was awarded the “Best Entertainment Retailer of the Year” at the ICICI Retail Excellence awards – 2004.

A long-term retail professional with global retail experience, IRF 2016 Chairman Krish Iyer brings significant management and leadership experience to his present role at Walmart India.

Krish has over three decades of rich experience in varied fields such as finance, marketing, retail & general management. In the field of retail, he has gained significant experience over the last sixteen years in various countries such as Hong Kong, Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and USA in addition to India.

He joined Walmart International as a Senior Vice President in 2012. Prior to this, he served as Managing Director, A.S. Watson Group, a leading international health, beauty and lifestyle retailer. During his six years tenure at A.S. Watson Group, Krish handled the business in Thailand, Taiwan and the Philippines as Managing Director, and as Regional Business Development Director and Regional Director of Store Design and Development for Asia and eastern Europe.

Prior to that, Krish was Managing Director and CEO of Piramyd Retail Limited. He started as Executive Director and CEO of Piramyd Retail in April 1999. During his 7.5 years tenure, Krish was also CEO of Retail Business of Piramal Enterprises comprising of Shopping Malls, Department Stores, Supermarkets and Entertainment Centres & Managing Director of Piramyd Retail. He successfully concluded an IPO in December 2005. During this period he was also a member of several industry associations, notable among them being the role of Founding Member of Retailers Association of India. He is currently a member of the advisory board of Enactus India, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring students to improve the world through entrepreneurial action. He is also the chairperson of FICCI Retail & Internal Trade Committee and a member of the CII committee on MNCs.

Krish has a Bachelor’s of Commerce (Hons.) degree from the University of Mumbai, India. He is a Chartered Accountant and an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India
